About Coaching
How it Works
We offer Team Coaching on a face to face basis and we offer Executive and Personal Coaching both face-to-face or by telephone. Our services are provided under two different structures:-
- Time basis. The contract is established on the basis of a number of sessions. A typical session would be scheduled for between 1.5 and 3 hours.
- Retained basis. The contract is established over a fixed period, with a fee agreed for the whole contract. Coaching sessions are then booked as and when needed.
The Coaching Process
Contracting
- An initial contracting conversation with the sponsor (if within an organisation), identifying expectations and desired outcomes, clarifying the process, frequency and number of coaching sessions, measures of success and cost.
- An initial conversation with the individual or team to be coached (coachees) to clarify objectives, establish the key issues faced and the motivation to take action.
- A discussion of potential coaches for the individual to make a choice
- A review after the first session to check suitability
Coaching
- At each coaching session, the coachee will bring an agenda of issues or items they wish to work on and your coach will help them to understand their beliefs, attitudes and behaviours, solve problems, establish priorities and make the most of opportunities. The coach will listen, question and challenge, offer alternatives and support learning using a series of practical tools and techniques. The coach will be non judgmental and will adhere to our code of ethics.
- Each session closes with agreement on the actions to be taken before the next session. Subsequent sessions review those actions, the results and the coachee’s feelings about them. This immediacy and the need to report back help make coaching so effective.
Evaluation
- A Mid Point Review and Final Review discussion will take place with both the individual or team being coached and the sponsor referencing the initial contracting conversations. We follow up with both coachee and coach to ensure appropriate evaluation takes place. Back to About Coaching
